A Review of the New Viltrox AF 75mm f/1.2 XF Lens

Viltrox is rapidly gaining a reputation as the photography world's champion of affordability, consistently delivering lenses that defy their price tags with impressive performance. One of their latest offerings, the AF 75mm f/1.2 XF, specifically designed for Fujifilm X Series cameras, is no exception. This lens boasts an incredibly wide f/1.2 aperture paired with a versatile 75mm focal length, making it an enticing option for portrait, wedding, and low-light photographers.

Coming to you from Alex Barrera, this helpful video review looks at the capabilities of the Viltrox AF 75mm f/1.2 XF, exploring its image quality and real-world performance. One of the standout features is the lens' ability to maintain good sharpness even when shooting wide open at f/1.2, a feat not often achieved by lenses in this price range. Additionally, the lens renders pleasingly soft bokeh, exhibits well-controlled aberrations, and boasts surprisingly robust build quality with weather-sealing.

Priced at $549, the Viltrox AF 75mm f/1.2 XF presents a compelling value proposition, especially considering its ability to keep up with the high-resolution sensors of Fujifilm's latest X-T5 and X-H2 cameras. Altogether, the XF 75mm f/1.2 XF looks like a fantastic option that a wide range of photographers should consider. Check out the video above for Barrera's full thoughts.

Yep, no doubt Viltrox is on fire lately. Shame Canon's RF APS-C mount opened only to Sigma and Tamron recently. With Canon's superb AF in affordable R50, this lens could be a reason why to buy that body, i.e. for family outdoor action and what not.
