I met this early morning patrol of a flock of geese on my daily tour through a small nature reserve (nearby Frankfurt, Germany) right in front of our house. At that time of the year (end of May) we often have this kind of 'right after sunrise fog' with the Spessart mountains almost hidden in the background. The opportunity for taking the photo was the result of patience and luck. The geese often take this route around sunrise from one pond to another one, but you have no control over the exact time of arrival and thus the position of the sun, the distance between the geese and the tree in front as well as the density of the fog and the clouds.
