Theatre

This is south african winter. Last year, in the middle of july, I visited the well known Amphitheatre in the Drakensberg escarpment. This image was taken just a few hundred meters away from the very top of Tugela Falls, the world's second tallest waterfall, just shy of 3000m in altitude. Unfortunately, the water volume was quite underwhelming, however the views were nothing less than spectacular.

Sweet, thanks for the pick!

Love the colors and the composition

Thanks, it's much apprecited! I'm actually not sure I'm 100% happy with the colors yet. But I'll take the compliment :)

Great photo.
But try 3000 feet not metres for the height of the waterfall. At 3000m it would make them 3 kilometres or about 9800 feet:-). The Tugela Falls are about 900m or about 2950 feet.

Thanks, I suppose the way I worded it was a bit mislleading. I was referring to the height of the falls' lip, it's starting height if you will. I know it doesn't drop straight down to sea level :)

Amazing composition!
