Clearing Storm, Tie Flume Road, Wyoming

A couple of years ago I served a residency in Bighorn National Forest in Wyoming. This image was made the last night before I broke camp and pulled out the next morning. It had been raining almost all day, which was a blessing since it washed the smog away caused by set fires, over 800 miles away in Oregon and California. The wind accompanying the storm front moving out was tremendous. I drive a full size Bronco which I parked up wind to give me sort of a wind break. Still, I had to hold the tripod center column down and pray that it would be enough and that the image would be crisp. Thankfully for me the single image I was able to get was sharp. Toyo 45A camera, 65mm Sinaron lens with a #15 Yellow Filter. Kodak T-Max 100 film.
